CHILDREN'S BOOK GROUPS
We are happy to offer book clubs during the school year for children in grades 1-2 and 3-4, thanks in part to support from a private grant. We offer a 1st and 2nd grade fiction book club, a 1st and 2nd grade non-fiction book club and a 3rd and 4th grade book club. Read on for more information. Read more below, or call 978-369-4898 and ask for Children's. You can also email Marty (email@example.com) for information.
GLEASON KIDS' BOOK CLUB: 1ST AND 2ND GRADE
The Gleason Public Library is happy to announce the return of the Gleason Kids Book Club, a children's book club open to all first and second graders. Sign-ups begin Monday, September 23, and are accepted on a first come, first served basis. You can call 1-978-369-4898 or email Marty (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The intention of the Gleason Kids Book Club is to bring a variety of books to children regardless of reading ability or level. If a child can read the assigned title on his own, he should be encouraged to do so. If a child is not quite ready or just prefers to be read to, parents and caregivers are encouraged to read with or to their children.
The next meeting of the fiction group is Thursday, February 13, from 4 to 4:45 p.m., and we will be reading Not My Dog by Rodowsky (the same book as for the cancelled January meeting). The next meeting of the non-fiction group is Tuesday, March 4, from 4 to 4:45 p.m., reading Spiders by Nic Bishop. Books are on reserve at the library for check out; please contact Marty to register.
If you have questions about the book club or would like more information, contact Marty at email@example.com or call the library at 1-978-369-4898 and ask for Children's.
