CHILDREN'S BOOK GROUPS

We are happy to offer book clubs during the school year for children in grades 1-2 and 3-4, thanks in part to support from a private grant. We offer a 1st and 2nd grade fiction book club, a 1st and 2nd grade non-fiction book club and a 3rd and 4th grade book club. Read on for more information. Read more below, or call 978-369-4898 and ask for Children's. You can also email Marty (mseneta@mvlc.org) for information.

GLEASON KIDS' BOOK CLUB: 1ST AND 2ND GRADE

Registrations are still being taken for the Gleason Kids Book Club, a children's book club open to all first and second graders. The intention of the Gleason Kids Book Club is to bring a variety of books to children regardless of reading ability or level. If a child can read the assigned title on his own, he should be encouraged to do so. If a child is not quite ready or just prefers to be read to, parents and caregivers are encouraged to read with or to their children. Each meeting consists of a snack, book discussion and a fun activity such as a craft, experiment or game.

The next meeting of the non-fiction group will be Tuesday, May 7 from 4:-4:45 p.m. and the book will be Island by Jason Chin; copies are available at the library circulation desk.

The next meeting of the fiction group will be Thursday, May 16, from 4-4:45 p.m. and the book will be Punished by David Lubar. It is available at the library circulation desk also.

If you have questions about the book clubs or would like more information, please contact Marty at mseneta@mvlc.org or call the library at 978-369-4898 and ask for Children's.

CARLISLE BOOK CLUB: 3RD AND 4TH GRADE

The Gleason Public Library's 3rd and 4th grade book club continues! The Carlisle Book Club is open to all Carlisle third and fourth graders. The club's next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. in the Hollis Room, and the book is The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies.

Registration is required and may be done in person or by phone at 978-369-4898.

If you have any questions about the book club or would like more information, please contact Tahleen Shamlian at tshamlian@mvlc.org or call 978-369-4898 and ask for the Children's Desk.
